Seventeen incredible young adults recently set out on a two-day journey that blended inspiration, exploration, and a whole lot of fun. With visits to two historic HBCUs—Morgan State University and Coppin State University—this trip was a chance to not only walk the campuses, but to imagine a future within them.
For many, this was their first-ever college visit—and the excitement was real. One young person shared, “This was my first college visit outside of Pittsburgh, and I had a fun time!” Walking the grounds of Morgan and Coppin, our youth soaked in the vibrant culture, met current students, and got a taste of what life could look like as part of a close-knit campus community. To make the experience even more memorable, everyone had the chance to grab some swag from their favorite college bookstore—our treat!
But the adventure didn’t stop there. Our group also got to experience the energy of an NBA game, watching the Washington Wizards battle it out live—an unforgettable first for many in the group. The trip included more cultural enrichment with a visit to the stunning Baltimore Aquarium, where young people got up close with marine life and had time to explore one of the city’s most iconic attractions.
From exploring future paths in higher education to creating lifelong memories with their peers, this trip was more than just a getaway—it was a window into what’s possible. We’re so proud of our young adults for stepping out of their comfort zones and stepping into new opportunities.
